Our History
St.Jude Children's Home was born in 1987, when Bernarnetta Akwero started to host the children, the elders and the vulnerable people in her hut under our big mango tree. Bernardetta was caring for all the people who were abandoned, negleted and abused during the war: she loved them until her last day, on the 15th of February 1992.
When she passed on, St.Jude Children's Home found another loving father in Brother Elio Croce who took care of the Home until 2020, when he left his beloved children and people during Covid-19 epidemy.
